Ten-frames help children see numbers to 10 at a glance. Count the dots, fill a frame to show a number, or work out how many more make 10.

For 11–20 the sheet uses two ten-frames — never more than ten dots in one frame.

How to Use

  1. Choose Count, Fill, Make 10, or Match.
  2. Set the number range (1–5, 6–10, 1–10, or 11–20). Make 10 and Match stay within 1–10. 6–10 is for Count and Fill only.
  3. Choose how many questions to print. Larger counts add extra A4 pages.
  4. Print the worksheet. For Fill, children colour the empty cells. For Count and Make 10, they write the answer.

Print tip: Filled counters use one bright colour per card with a dark outline, so they stay clear in colour or grayscale. Empty cells stay white. More questions mean more pages — frames are never shrunk.
