Each question shows two groups of the same object. Count each group and combine the totals.
Children count both groups and write the total. Numerals under the pictures are optional support. The pictures stay the main idea.
Count both groups. Add them together and write the total.
This worksheet is a first bridge from counting real groups to the addition sign. A child sees two countable groups of the same object, understands that + means putting the quantities together, and writes one total. First Addition stays within 5. Within 10 and Within 20 keep every object large enough to count. It is picture addition, before column arithmetic.

Print tip: Count & Add prints 6 problems on each A4 page. Match the Total uses four rows for First Addition and larger totals, or six rows for Within 10. Further questions continue on the next page at the same size. Print at 100% scale with default margins.
